Dear Experts,

I have doubt , Recently i have join as SAP FI CO consultant ,i have good knowledge present SAP but i am hearing Simple Finance will take over Ecc 6.0 its pulling me down , should i go for training Simple finance again? or should stick to ECC 6.0 please advice

Hi

If you just started, I would suggest you focus on FICO (ECC 6.0). May be after a year or so, you can venture into SFIN

Hi Hidyath,

First you should have a grip on E.C.C 6.0 version and then only you can understand SAP simple finance. SAP simple finance has additional features i.e SAP has enhanced the features taking E.C.C 6.0 version as the base.

As suggested by the trainer please stick to E.C.C 6.0 and get a grip on FICO module. Then you can later on go for SAP Simple finance.

But how is the future prospects of Simple finance? will it really replace ECC6?

I dont see much companies going for SF.

Hi Sharukh,

Future prospects of Simple finance will always be good. First as said please concentrate on E.C.C 6.0 modules. Once you have grip you can easily understand Simple finance as simple finance is nothing but the additional features that sap has given on E.C.C 6.0 version.

S4 HANA is going to be the future product and the Support to ECC will be withdrawn by 2025 or so

if you get a chance to  work on Simple finance client/project good to go, before that you should learn E.C.C 6.0 version.

BIG 4 companies already having simple finance projects, future is Simple finance and fiori apps.

Simple Finance is SAP FICO on HANA.

Yes it is the future but HANA is a database and doesn't work alone, it needs R/3 to get its data as well as third party software.

However a lot has been changed with S/4 HANA with some totals tables being removed, no period end closing etc.

Yes indeed Simple Finance and Fiori is the future. It will be interesting for you to venture into it but like everyone on this thread, I will say the same.

Grab the fundamental concepts of ECC 6.0 first.It is a vital base for you to understand the functionalities of Simple Finance.
