Shifting to SAP BI/BW

Dear All

I am SAP Business one Consultant and Having 5 Project Implantations of Exprience , I am going to shift to SAP BI/ Bw,

so what are the prerequisite for SAP BI .

After one year of Exp in SAP BI ,can My total Exp in SAP is counted

it would be useful logically (i mean logical thinking)

but the coding in BW is fully ABAP

u have to learn basic abap to write code in BW

its not mandatory ...its not needed initially but we need to learn as going further (after 6 months)

Business one and NetWeaver have nothing in common.

.NET versus ABAP or Java

small business versus international companies

MS tools or not tools versus all possible tools integrated in the GUI client

Database schema completely different

Etc. etc. if you can successfully switch from B1 to SAP BI, please share your experience next, because that will be a miracle. No previous experience will be used in the SAP BW/BI/BO field (in fact BO would be better than the core-Netweaver ones)

I understand Nothing is common between BI and B1 , My query is whether my functional and tecnical Exp is counted or usefull in SAP BI

technical exp from B1 counts very little in SAP BI.

functional depends. If that means B1 functional, than you can use like nothing. It that means a domain experience (you have worked in a factory, as a human resources manager, an accountant) than it definitely counts. But I doubt that is your case.

from my point of view this will be a hard start and from the very scratch.
