Hello Everyone,
I am new to this community. I am currently working in a cement industry(plant) wherein I use SAP PM module on daily basis for maintenance activities in the plant. I have around 5yrs experience in this field and I want to move to the Consultant/Testing sector of SAP PM. So, I just want to know what are the prospects and what kind of training will I have to undergo in order to change my industry/sector. Also I want to know if there are any low budget training institutes in Chennai/Bangalore as I have heard that the certification course of SAP costs around 3-4 lacs.
Please advice and help.

Hi Sataroop,
I entered into SAP with my domain experience. During 2006/2007 there are lot of openings from mid scale companies, so they recruited the end users (domain) from Industries and train them in SAP.
Nowadays this has turned upside down... Very less openings in companies... You need to wait for an opportunity.
Training purpose, you can get training from local institute without certificate (many available in chennai, please google it) or get certification (added value) from SAP, but either things no job guaranteed.
If you join small companies, salary will be very low in India, you need to survive as a consultant for 2 years, then automatically your pay will increase.
All the best.
Regards
Terence
