Hi All,

I am desperately looking for a suggestion here.. I am a sales professional working with a Software consulting company based out of US. I have total 4 years of Sales experience. Now I am evaluating the options for a change and would like to get into the SAP world. Heard that SAP SD is useful for Sales people to start new career. Bottom line is I did my graduation in computer applications in 2002. Please advise.

With Regards

Nag Mada

Hi,

SD (sales and distribution) is the SAP´s module for sales, so this is for you. Your expression "SAP SD is useful for Sales people to start new career" is true and at the same time could be wrong. It could be like a gun: it can protect you but it could also kill you. If you want a new career, you should learn about SD first as an end user and then, if you liked it, as a key user. In time you might consider to become a consultant.

The problem is, like in any other profession, that you have to pay for your training and once you´re finished, there´s no warranty that you´ll get a new job with a better pay. Read in this forum and you´ll find people who got a certification but get no job, not event an enterview. You better find what the chances in your city/area/country are before misspending your money for nothing. Job market is difficult with or without SD training.

SAP has very good perspectives in the short and long run. It is delightful to work with it, so give it a try.

I would suggest to go for CRM (Sales) which has great demand in the market.
