HI, I am planning to shift to sap career. I have 4 years experience in sales. I contacted one of the training center about SAP SD but he suggested me doing SAP MM as my Bachelors in Electronics and my MBA as international business management. I don't have much domain experience in MM, is it any difficult in getting the job in MM without domain experience ?or which is better for me SD or M?

Have a look at this website, http://www.sap-erp.com/general/sap-module-overview.html, and study the SD and MM sections. It's always going to be next to impossible to get a job without previous domain experience unless you're starting at the very bottom entry level jobs. Unfortunately, if your job is actually talking to folks selling stuff, then SD might not be a good fit either. Depending on what you actually do in Sales, you should also research CRM.

Don't forget, you can also work for SAP or an implementer on selling SAP licenses or services! You don't need to be an SAP Functional consultant to have a career in SAP!

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Hello,

If you are an expert in sales field, better go for SAP SD so that as you know what would be going on in the sales process, it is easy to get a better picture of that. But, if you are in the field of something like marketing, then SAP MM would be better as it is easy to learn and it plays a important role in the company.

Vinay, Madhavareddy,

then SAP MM would be better as it is easy to learn

Please note it is not about learning or a basic level in any module.

In the SAP world, it is about being an expert in the module you have selected.

And to become an expert requires years, hardwork, exposure to different scenarios/issues etc.

Go for the module that triggers your passion.

Think of it this way, if you had to work for free (for a number of years) - would you do that with the module you choose / select?

Hi,

As far as your Exprience its completely related to SAP SD only. But if you see the present market situation going to SAP MM will be better idea instead of SD. Because SD consultant toomuch in the market as related to sales experience alot and you will became one of them who is searching job for morethan a year with certified also.....

So my suggestion go for MM and try to concentrate more on Business scenarios and try to relate the Experience in a such way to make accordingly...

Thanks

Nayeem.
