Greetings To All!

I have completed my training in SD module from a non-certified institute.I am looking for lot many prospects but honestly all in vain.Facing the same trouble that companies require only the experienced professionals whereas I am not.I am also good with end user profile but didn't get any lead so far.

Kindly guide me how should I proceed.

Rekha,

Most important message to keep in mind everyday is - patience.

Breaking into SD will take time, lot of rejections and even more job interviews.

Prepare the important SD topics everyday, understand the business meaning of fields and functionalities. Revise the standard SD processes.

Give yourself 1 year to get a job, and everyday work on sandbox and read / re-read the theory (TSCM60 and 62, Glynn C Williams).

Where there is a will, there is a way.. Have patience. Definitely, you will get a break in SAP as a Fresher. There are lot of companies recruiting freshers. All you have to do is to build good contacts. For example, Linked In..

Rekha, all,

Agree with several things that Ashok says.

About "build good contacts", for me this is first do a good job at work, let your team members see and evaluate your performance and your quality, then go ahead and connect with them.

In other words, simply connecting with some one who doesnot know you (say in LinkedIn) will give you very little. Showcase your hardwork, your ability and as a follow up action connect in social media, then you might benefit from the contact.

Dear TW Typewriter,

I meant to say that by building good professional contacts, you will get to know about the opportunites time to time and may be you can quickly react on those opportunities rather than waiting for companies to contact you.

Ashok,

Agree with you, but from my experience just connecting with someone in LinkedIn etc. would not help. People recommend, approach etc. when they know you are good, either by working with you or by having someone they know, who has worked with you.

You are correct. But, I personally see lots of openings in my circle Linked in contacts. There is no harm if we use Professional sites. I just gave an example of Linked In.. There are lots of sites on SAP.

As G Lakshmipathi rightly said, it depends on the location. There are still companies who recruit people on signing a bond with Stipend or less package.

Ashok,

There is no one way. I agree that we should do "all" that we can, to break into SAP (positive and legal things I mean). And things workout differently for different people, and in different times.

Rekha,

I hope Ashok and my interaction will help you.

You have not indicated where you are residing.  Assuming that you are in India, almost all states have various IT organizations where they consider freshers, give initial training in the project related work they handle and put you in some project.  But for that, you need to give an undertaking for two-three years with less package.  You have to find out such small IT vendors.  The other option is some job portals are demanding some amount and if you are willing to pay them, they will schedule interviews with couple of firms but this only for restricted period.

Rekha,

If you are not working, at the moment, then "be an imaginary SAP end-user, at home". Every day create

- some master data, customer and material masters

- some transaction data, 20 sales orders (with and without reference), 20 deliveries, do picking and PGI, 20 invoices

Look at some select important fields, read the F1 help

- pull data from the SAP tables, from VBAK how many orders created for OR process? etc.

Daily hands-on SAP experience will help you in interviews and later, as an analyst.
