Hello all,

I recently joined my company and was trained in SAP MM for 3 months and joined project. But now am asked to work in SAP PP module. They told they ill train me in that. I was very devoted to MM and had a great training. Now am also interested to learn a new module but is disappointed that i wont be able to implement my MM knowledge anywhere. Now i want to know which module will be good for my career, taking into consideration in the opportunities and demand for the respective module. Should i stay in PP or request them to put me back to MM. Kindly guide me in this.

Hi,
First of all "Lucky You".
Coming to your situation, what exactly is your role is in your project?
Are you into some project say support/implementation. From my point of view, i believe the right approach is always to learn step by step. You may learn 5 things together but that may not be very good  approach if you dont have grasp of in depth of any one.
Meaning there by is  to survive and grow in this industry you cant be jack of all trades and master of none; at least you need to master one. I believe as you have learnt SAP MM very well as you said, i think its time to explore more on the same. But why stop learning? If they are asking you to learn SAP PP its good. Go for it. But if its possible do come back to SAP MM and learn all the configuration level concepts. Once you are done and have sent a bit of time say 1.5 to 2 years at least  with MM you can and should branch out to PP or any other flavor of SAP
Well decision rests on you.
Good luck and i hope it helps you to decide well moving ahead.
Happy learning.

As MM and PP is integrated module, so you can continue with PP module or you can get back to MM module.

But As you have the experience of MM module, then in my opinion, you can try to learn PP module.

You will get many things of mm in PP module like as MRP, Material Master, PR etc etc.

If you learn PP module, then you will be a MM/PP consultant.

As of my opinion, you should get the PP experience..
