Hello Sumanth,

Appreciate your thought to get into the world of SAP.

As you were in the fields of Mechanical and Automotive Industry, Understanding concepts in SAP wont be a big problem.

In terms of choosing the SAP Module. I suggest you to go for what you passionate about.

If you feel Purchasing, Inventory Management makes you comfortable, Go for SAP MM.
or
If you feel Sales, Shipping, Logistics makes you comfortable, Go for SAP SD.

All the best to become a Good SAP Consultant.

Hello vishnu,

I had trained in SAP ABAP 4 years back by some local Institute, unfortunately I dint do any job as Abaper to join MBA, tha language of SAP is not new to me.

Well I worked as BD, but bothe the key words you mentioned abt SD and MM are comfortable for me in understanding.

Dependong upon the opportunities available for job in the current situation I wanna choose the module.

If it is being said both has equal opportunities then I may look into MM as I am very much frustated abt sales job.

Regards

Sumanth

Hello Sumanth,

Knowledge of ABAP is always good for a functional Consultant.

I will let you know the things.... Decision to go or not go is yours.

First of all understand and choose the module based on your interest and not on market demand. Demand may come and go shortly. Not one demand will stand longer in current fast moving world. we need to update always.

When you choose based on your interest, It will fascinate you to work and so you wont feel like working.

As far as from the reply from you, I want to clarify one thing. SAP SD doesnt mean that it will be like actual Sales job with monthly targets.

Both SAP MM and SAP SD and whatever may be the SAP Module.., you will have to work as a configurator or Developer in case if you choose ABAP as your module.

Working in SAP SD is not like we have to increase sales directly to our company... NO.

It rather actually understanding the sales concepts of our client and configure the necessary settings in SAP. That's the Job of an SAP SD Consultant.

Let me know if you have further more queries,

With Regards,
Vishnu...
