Hi Mahesh,

the salary depends by your skills more than the technology you choose

For the growth and the technology.. they are two different paths, equally worth.

Both of them got big prospectives and, imho, a bright future.

I do not know on the long run which will be best.

If you can, try to work with both of them since they can be strictly related.

Hello Atmakuri Mahesh,

I have same the question like you when i started to learn about SAP HANA.

If you have an interest to be a SAP HANA Developer as Simone said, you should try both of them.

Since SAP HANA is just a database we can develop the user interface with any programming languange and in this case SAP has offered SAPUI5.

To maximized our application performance, it is good to know how to utilized SAP HANA and for the UI technology of course you can work with SAPUI5 to create an application.

Good luck

Hi, Even I have the same question. As per my understanding, if you gave BI background you can think of getting into HANA. I am seeing that most of the requirements are based on HANA with BI background. I am seeing that UI5 + FIORI is based on Java or Java Script. Also i don't feel like learning JAVA/JAVASCRIPT. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

It's a bit more complex than that.

Yes, UI5 is JavaScript, a new framework/library based on JQuery.

Fiori is not just UI5, it's a whole new (for SAP) concept with UI/UX rules and paradigms.

HANA is more than BI, it's, for my understanding, the whole package BI+BW+ERP as it's nicely explained here

Hi Ricky,

In developer perspective, it is good to know how the database work so we can utilised the database with maximum. HANA is a platform but it is also a database.. so we need to know how we can utilise it in our application. Knowledge on HANA will help us as a programmer / developer.

If you are a BI technical person of course, you still can work BI things on HANA.
