Hi shuklabp

Finance is an extremely exciting area to be in with the changes happening rapidly in areas like Transfer pricing, taxation, valuation, corporate finance and sustainability. There is always a dearth of demand who know both business process and technology. In your case, you have rich experience in domain which is extremely critical. However, if you have to start all over in a pure consulting role, you would be considered as a fresher in most cases.

However, I would still stick to making a career with big customers, who are now adopting digital transformation rapidly and would need people who understand processes and also know a bit of technology. Lot of such customers have their IT Captives in India (assuming you are in India), i would suggest to look for a suitable job as a process owner rather than a pure consulting role. This would value your rich domain exp as well as keep you close to technology which you are passionate about. That could be one of the right ways to go around it

Thanks & Regards

Hello shuklabp

When I say a process owner, it is a person or a team, which acts as a liason between IT Teams and End User. The understand technology and its capabilities as well as business processes. Eg, if you were a part of team of process owners, which have to implement product profitability, you would know what kind of reporting capabilities are needed (eg, key figures, different dimesions etc). At the same time, you would also understand the technology capabilities and this is where your FICO courses play a role. However, your focus will be more on process side. This is the role, you could get into.

If you want to know about various courses related to Finance, you might want to look at the below learning journey:

Thank you so much for your guidance, it is very helpful , if you can guide what kind of role i should be applying for getting interviews . Because if I apply as a FICO consultant , it would be counted as a fresher.

Hi shuklabp

I have already suggest to look for opportunities as process owners, where SAP transformation projects are being planned or executed. You should find lot of these postings on social and job portals.
