SAP career choice ?

Hello everyone, I have just graduated from University for 1 year.

Recently I have an offer to become SAP associate Authorization Consultant at a very big multinational firm. With high chances of receiving SAP trainings, foreign languages courses, English communication environment, foreign business trips, sustainable career,.... With career path I may go to BASIS after 3-5 years.

However, I like to join functional but the boss at that firm said no way, cos I have no experience at functional except a basic SAP funtional course at college and few month internship at a consulting IT firm.

Should I take the job to join SAP industry, cos chances like that do not always exist and actually I got the job because of large expanded requirement of that firm, and usually they just hire people with at leat 3+ years exp.

Please, can anyone clarify the detail career job of Authorization. Is it hot, complicated, high paid,.... and future of it.

Are there any chances I can move to functional after years working ?

Just one sentence to say:

Grab the opportunity..

Don't leave this. Easily you can go for functional module after 2-3 years.

SAP BASIS is a very demand-able module. Every company needs a BASIS consultant who run SAP system.

As you have explained about the company details, this will be a golden chance to you..

BASIS is stands for administrator function. User authorization, server maintenance etc .

My opinion don't leave the opportunity..

Hi Bang,

the very first thing is that never drop any oppurtunity , because you don't know where it will take you, as the firm is a well known MNC, that means there will be lot of things to be done, means you can move to other sections too in future, so according to me you have to grab this oppurtunity.

SAP BASIS is the administrator module as suggested by Dev, in this the basis person has lots of work to do which you can easily find through simple searching. And it has vast scope too, as all the company who have implemented SAP will need a basis consultant to look the network related stuffs ( in terms of sap).

So, if your senior will get appreciated by your work in authorisation role, you may get converted to a basis consultant in future, so please do not drop this oppurtunity, take it work hard and leave everything to the Almighty.
