Hiii Experts,

I have cleared my SAP SD certification and i have 4,5 years of sales and distribution experience but i left my job 3 years ago because of some family issue but during those days i was preparing for civil service exams but unfortunately i didn't clear the exam then i joined with atos, got trained and i have cleared SAP SD Certification with 94%. I want to know that any company will consider this 3 years of GAP or not, if not so what should i do for getting entry into SAP industry Please give me your valuable suggestions.

Moved from SAP ERP SD Sales to Career Center.

At the outset, congratulations on clearing the certification.  Since there is a 3 years gap, it will be very tough for you to compete in the market.  You need to try and keep on attending interviews.  Dont loose heart if you are not selected in the first couple of interviews.  Just gather whatever questions asked and try to search answer for that.  Of course, this is the right forum for you to get those inputs.

Most important fact is that you should not give much weightage to perks.  Whatever employers are offering, accept and after this, your main goal should be to learn the SD process and configuration part.  Why I am telling this is because, I know guys those who cleared certifications with high percentage, but, struggling when they are put into some project.  So certification will help you to some extent only to get some employment but when you enter into a project, the environment would be entirely different.  I am only trying to tell you the fact and dont get offended.  Keep trying trying and also keep practicing all SD process.  Wish You All the Best.

Hi Sharang

Never resort to unfair means. Trust your abilities and start as a fresher in SAP rather than putting some fake experience.

You can read the recently published blogs in career center on people faking up their CVs

Things may take time, but they will workout for sure

Hi Sharang,

Don't ever try to show fake experience. Better accept the reality & communicate the genuine reasons for the gap. Definitely interviewers will appreciate for that. .

Getting a job depends on the knowledge, confidence & how you have prepared for that.

A beautiful & worth reading blog on fake experiences is written by . Read that and apart from that he has written many other blogs, have a look at that.

HI Sharang,

congratulations from from me too. Never create a fake track as especially in an SAP world you will really repent at a later time for doing that.

let me help you with an action set.

1. Create a linkedin profile if you do not have already with a professional photograph.

2. Choose and pick your connections extremely selective....do not add your friends and family, only industry professionals who can help you including recruiters who are local or specific to the country you are open to relocate

3. In the job description field do not put any title but give a description of your expertise

4. Now create some content in SD area that can show that you are current and add value.

5. Search for the latest functionalities in SD with your s-user ID at http://service.sap.com

6. Explain in SAP terminology, your past SD experiences and show how you can add value with your past experience in sales n distribution.

7. In the worst case, get into a job in sales and distribution functional area (preferably where SAP is used) and work in this area and continue searching to make the real switch. This way you will refresh your SD functional experience. Trust me, time will fly on your new job as you search for a better bet.

for for the easiest part of a soothing line - there are companies which just need to pool some folks who are certified so that they can show a certified consultants pool to win some deals and they may surely look for a good bet, surely they will give you a better edge than employing fresh folks who are certified.

all the best to you

sharang,

As mentioned by G Lakshmipathi, it would be difficult to get a job!

For freshers it is difficult, for you it would be very difficult...

When you understand this and plan accordingly, without losing positivity, patience then things shall happen for you. During this applying for job period - keep revising the sales processes and important basic functions in SD.

In CV, do no put the 3 years as gap, mention that you were preparing for civil service exam.

Hi,

Congratulations first for completing certification..

I am trying for certification from 3 years but not yet done. As suggested by our gurus be confident and there are companies who will look for certified freshers.

At present there are no fresher calls and hope may be after 4 to 6 months they will post requirement for freshers.

Never loose hope.

Bala.
