I can understand your feelings. Don't get frustrated. There are no alternative solution to handle this situation. Just take it as a bad time in your life.

Keep try to participate in interviews.

Hi Jabbar,

i understand your feelings, yes its true that getting a job as an fresher in sap is quite tough and getting a certification never plays any role in job hunt, please understand one thing that certification is a theoritical examination, and real time working experience is totally different with it, so experienced professionals are preffered over certified professionals.

But, remember that nothing is impossible in this world , so what you will do is expand your contacts either at Linkedin or else and talk to other similar professional if they get any opening, then to tell you.

And i don't know about Middle east, so can't tell you about it more.

If you have any further query, please revert.

Hi Jabbar,

Understood your feelings. But don't get frustrated as certification is always a valuable one.

Of course, yes, being a fresher it may take a little longer time to enter SAP. But for sure you will be getting calls for freshers as well. The only thing is need to enhance network in social websites and have patience.

Wish you all the best!

Really  3 months?? great.
How about waiting for more than 6 months?
So i think by now you have understood no body is there who will come up to help you or willing to.
There is  no way i see any break we are going to get.

People will suggest you all that you already know almost.
But i didnot find any body forwarding their hands to help. Those who got placed by colleges campuses are the only people who are enjoying the silver bed of working and gaining experience in SAP.
Being certified in SAP BW  I think i have made a mistake. Would you believe guys who have completed Mtech in Biotechnology replaced  SAP Certified BW Consultant in an MNC, just because they were hired via campus placement on permanent pay roll while the latter was just a contract employee.

There are people getting jobs using fake experience. While being honest what i have received from HR is "No Vacancy for freshers or less experienced, we are looking for 3+ years experience"
And the Authorized Partners are another piece of  lie who deceive people telling that they will provide placement.
So what remains as the choice to make?? How far can one wait??

My Question:

If guys who have been taken from campus and are made to work in SAP BW what wrong we have done being certified that we dont deserve even the entry level positions?

I bet you will never get the answer of this question and no one here will be able to  or  willing to answer. So that means we  are on our own.

What you get here is mere sympathy which is of no use.

Hai Aparajit

I completed certification in Jan 14 and got certificate in end of Feb 14. Till today i am in the search. Is really SAP certification have no value????. Spend lot of money... Then SAP could itself

prevent people without SAP experience from training and certification. I have been told implementation partner and client values certification. very much confused and shattered ......

You have been out played my friend. I wish i could answer your query what is next.
Shattered is the worst one can feel and yes it does makes  us feel. Specifically when i saw the kind  of  unjustified things going on all around.
And for your FYI:
SAP is doing business, why should it stop its business. It dint tell you to come and  invest all your money. You did it  on yourself. Also SAP recommended Certification not for freshers but  only for experienced guys. But for sake of money and business all SAP Partners are violating this recommendation and making  people invest their money. I wish all the people could throw case on such centers.  And there are  many like you and me into such situations.

Hello Jabbar and Aparajit,

Sadly, this is not a new story. Please see other blogs collected at SAP Career Blog Links. As you point out, Aparajit, SAP recommends certification only for experienced folk. Experience first, certification second is the motto.

How to get experience if you need experience to get the job? The answer is that you are shooting for the wrong job. You need to start even more basic: as IT support desk or something similar at a company that runs SAP.

Yes, the lucky golden ones who get recruited before they graduate have an easier path. Many folks in this world were born better looking and richer than I am as well, and that's not fair either, but it is what it is and we must deal with the reality in front of us.

You were told happy, shiny stories by folks who wanted to take your money in exchange for certification. Now that you have your certification, you see them for what they were, empty promises. This does NOT mean that you'll never have a career in SAP, it just means that you have a longer, harder path. (Maybe you can be a male model or have inherited wealth? No? Then you'll have to take the long route like everyone else.)

I wish you both the best and hope you reach your goal eventually, but for now, set your sights on entry level jobs that you actually can get and get started down the path. Experience first, certification second.

Best regards,

--Tom

Dear All

Thanks for all encouragements and support. I want to point out that i was not fresher but i don't have SAP experience. But i had experience in Aviation industry for 9 years in which include technical analysis and operational jobs including data management. Now what is the meaning of domain experience experience. I couldn't understand that??. It is easy for me to understand if i deal with requirement and analysis in that domain...and design the requirement to BI. Here everybody asking 2-3 implementation experience. if experience first and certification then, they have to restrict it to SAP job people only...... I cant understand all???. It is just a matter of giving opportunity to trained and certified people at junior level and hire experience in SAP at middle & higher level...

It is really understandable that companies didn't want to spend on training but it really sic that not giving chance to trained and certified people even at lower level..

Jabbar,

It is a sad fact of life that businesses don't make money by taking risks. The safest thing to do for a company who needs someone who can work on their SAP system is to hire someone who already has experience. So as stated previously, the best way for someone who does not have experience to GET experience is to begin in a company who is running SAP in a non-SAP support role and then work your way into a support role by proving your value as a hard worker who takes initiative.

With your domain experience, you should be able to get a job at a company who is running SAP. Use the experience you have to get into the job you eventually want! The route you have described would entail you taking a huge step back in pay/prestige/seniority. Once you have a job working at a company which uses SAP to do the reporting in the Aviation industry, you can make the case to your employer that it is more efficient for you to design the reports yourself rather than just creating the design specification for the report and having someone else create the report. You do have a path, it's just not the just-add-water instant-BI-consultant path that the training company described to you before you paid for your training.

I hope this helps!

Best regards,

--Tom
