Hi GURUS
Want you advice on SAP Basis.
Basically a network guy with some knowledeg in windows.
would like to know what is SAP Basis, and where is get training for this certification

If you don`t know that yet, there are SAP trials for ABAP stack as well as the Java system. You can start there.
There are also some other products from SAP that you can download legally and for free as 30 days trial and start from there. One part of the basis work is to install and configure things, so you can get some hands on experience this way.
Basis is also very similar in all the system and is a necessary part of the system, so it is also a part of the trial. So you can read basis forum questions and try to find the answer for them in your own playground system. You can do the same with blogs.

It's the installation, configuration and administration of the SAP environment, including the GUI screens and SAP application servers. If you have any system administration background (Unix/Windows/Database) will help you to learn.
