SAP BASIS Career....

hello friends,

I am new to this forum.

i work for an MNC. i did my ug in Electroincs and PG MBA-Information Systems. i am 5 years experienced(in electonics and IT). I am a flash interactive application developer in my company i am involved more in Flash interactive application development, webservices and integrating it with web server and client. I am also one of the trainers for Intranet development for Asia pacific regions of my company. i would like to shift my career to SAP. i am very much interested in SAP BASIS admin. i would like to do this course. Currently i am doing my MCSE certification. after completing it, i have planned to do BASIS certification.

i have good knowledge in administrating the windows server 2003 and xp, will i be able to make my carreer in SAP field? would it help? will i get job after i complete BASIS certification??? this question is because currently i am a multidedia developer.. can you please suggest,

Dear Ashok

Goods to hear that you are escalating your carrier on different level.

Basis is not to Admin the System and learn 10-20 tcode of Basis. and that's enough to be Basis Admin.

You have to improve your technical level on DB / Technical infrastrucuture of SAP landscape / Root Cause of the problem and their solutions./ Backup & Restore Solutions and System Management!

I am sure i could learn it. but my only concern is, will the companies accept me once i finish the cerification? What is the scope of a fresh BASIS profissional?

currently i am in a different domain.. that's y i am little upset.. and will there be any advantage of being an MCSE professional along with the BASIS knowledge???

I like your enthusiasm but theres no guarantees, having a certification without experience only tell employers that you know the basic theory... I presume you'll be looking for an entry point position from where to start and then climb the ladder as your experience grows.

As basis the strongest the technical background the better... So I don't think it will be crutial but every little piece of kit helps..
