SAP Basis Advice

Hi All,

I have completed 7+ yrs experience in BPO with 3+ years experience as Business Systems Analyst role but this role seems to be too limited in my project . I would like advice from you all. I am planning to take SAP Basis course will this help in starting my career in SAP.

Hi Ravi ,

SAP Basis involves administrative activities  like installation , Upgrades , applying support pack upgrades , performance tuning , Backup restore etc .SAP Basis is much more than what i have mentioned above but these will be the core skills required

If you have previous  experience in administration in either OS ( Unix/Windows/Linux ) or  in any Database it will certainly help you if you pursue SAP BASIS

Hi Ravi ,

Unfortunately  i will not be be the right person to help you in choosing a module  . It really depends on what you want to do  and whether  you want to gain from your previous experience .

If you have no previous experience on DB / OS  or any other S/W administration  and you pursue BASIS then all your previous experience gained will not be useful ( Except your soft skills ) and you would be required to start as a "fresher" . Getting  a job as a fresher in SAP BASIS is very tough 

If you would detail as to what you have been doing all these 7 years and your area of interest  our expert member friends will be able to guide you   .

Hi Ravikiran,

Please elaborate on your activities within BPO sector or as a Business System Analyst. Were you focused more on Customer Service? If you wish to pursue a technical module, please tell us more about your technical capabilities including databases, programming etc.

Once you mention all these details, we can guide you in selecting a module. Ultimately, you have to choose.
