Hi,
Greetings!
I have been in IT industry for 7 years in an IT major.
For the first half, I was working as a coder while for the next half as a business consultant for an auto industry.
Now, I am planning to move to some other stream for better career prospects.
I would like to know from experts if SAP is a good choice for me or not?
If yes, what should I opt for - technical or any specific functional area?
Thanks for your help.

Manish,
I would say both will suit you. Please explore some of the SAP modules like ABAP, SAP SD, SAP SCM etc etc to start with. If you can elaborate more on your experience here you can get some relevant answers related to domain expertise which in turn help you choosing a right course and perhaps better future prospect in SAP career.
Good Luck
Cheers

Thanks Hrusikesh. As a coder, I had worked for an ETL tool in C++. As a consultant/requirements management, I had worked for logistics domain for an auto industry.

Manish,
I think SAP ABAP or any functional module like SAP MM will benefit you. However you can laern combination of both as well.
I will suggest you do it one then work couple of years before going to learn another module.
So learn ABAP or MM first and start your career in SAP.
Good Luck

Hi Hrusikesh,
Thanks for the reply.
As I had worked in ET first, will it be a good option to start with SAP BI 7.0 followed by SAP HANA?
Regards,
Manish
