Hello Aparna,

You have 2yr exp in core java means in Programming/ Coding , then you should go for the ABAP because ABAP is fully based on Coding/UI design and OOPs based and your concept must be clear in OOPs and all small concept of java, you just need to learn some syntax of SAP/ABAP and it won't be so difficult for you to work on ABAP.

Hi Aparna,

Hope this blog would help you.

Moving from Java to ABAP is not a bad option either, as you already have programming background.

Keep exploring SAP.

All the best.

Hi Aparna,

As per your previous exp, seems like you will strong at coding technical skills. in SAP we have only one module. i.e ABAP.  Even present version of ABAP also use java coding part. its will be very easy to understand program part. it might be good idea to opt ABAP.

Man while check the about SAP ABAP help links. which give you more idea.

Hi Aparna,

Java to ABAP is good and java to CRM techincal is very good choose your option, beacuse java is based on the oop's concept and crm also same

(but ABAP knowldge also mandatory ).

Everyone says ABAP easy beacuse its a basic for coding part then after differnt steps(coding technologys) are there, basic knowldge on abap will not help on your future as well as serach criteria time,so if you have intrested switch to SAPplease learn ABAP +(webdynpro/workflow/CRM tech etc...) .

Let me know if you have any concerns .

Regards

Mahesh
