Hi Ravi,
Here is my opinion on SAP HANA. This technology would make lot of sense for Technical people because it is a database. It would be really good for people who are good in SQL, Scripting on databases, Data Integration. I think you probably may have seen a quick demo on certain types of views provided by SAP HANA and would just be scratching the surface of HANA. In the recent SP5 release, they started making data in Hana available as a service using JSON over HTTP. Scripting for this is going to be on JavaScript. They have made PAL (Predictive analytics library) available on HANA for statistical modeling and data analysis which also needs to be coded. They have integrated R a open source statistical programming language for the features not yet available on PAL. Also you may have known SAP recently announced SAP applications running on HANA Database. I came to know that they are even going to enhance the capabilities of ABAP programming language to work with HANA.
In Short...HANA is a technical area. If you are really interested, nothing stops you from learning this area. However, you may encounter challenges as you go down the road when competing with other people with significant technical / programming background.
Yes, SAP HANA has a great future and will give you much better advantage in the job market.
All The Best!!

Thank you so much...this reply is very informative. fianlly one question. what about bw/bi future? sap released latest version of bw as bw 7.3 also with integration of bo and bods......

Hi Ravi
BW/BI-Simply we call it as BW-7.3
BW will continue to stay as till now all BW projects used to work on any relational database eg Oracle,ms sql server,teradata,db2.
if same BW project is migrted to HANA platform in the place of above said databases are replaced with SAP's Database i.e HANA DB thats it
BW-BODS
-----------------
As of now BW has different extractor methods for loading data into BW system, going forward
BODS will be one of the additional extractor and along with the existing ones
BW-BO
---------
As of now BW team is using Bex tools as thier reporting tool set which will be replaced by
BO,Cyrstal Reports,Dashboards.but bex tools are supported by BW on every release basis
but no new investement(R&D) on BEx tools...going forward
If you are good with any of BW-BODS-BO-SQL skills or combination of skills then its good to work on SAP HANA plaformwith bright future....
Hope This helps!
Thx
