Query regarding SD consultant

Hi

I am confused about the significance of SD consultant in an organization. And what are the certification needs to be completed before becoming one and what scope would I have in future.

Currently working on sap like creation of sales order, billing document , purchase orders , document flow and all the billing material creation.

Which certification would be suitable for me

SAP SD plays a very crucial role in any organization using ERP as it's core. I would say, it is one of the most important role, since you are able to bill customers only after SD is set up properly. The entire order to billing process and integration with AR and cash collections is set up by SD Consultant, which in a small nutshell the role of an SD Consultant.
