Query about job opportunity for SAP SD Consultant for Sales experience holder.

Dear Sir,

I am having 7 years of sales experience (Software Sales), I have done MBA in Marketing. I am not having any idea or experience about SAP SD Module, I want to pursue SAP SD module. I want to know after completing the course will they (Company) consider my sales experience or not, i.e. do i need to join from fresher level or my experience will be counted?  I also want to know, to get a good job, certification is mandatory or i can learn the course from any small institute, and what's view about on-line course.
