Pursuing a career in SAP-FICO or SAP HANA consultant

Dear Bloggers,

I would like to know about pursuing career in SAP-FICO or SAP HANA consultant.

I am a BSc. graduate (Mumbai University, Major: Physics) and pursuing my Chartered Accountant from ICAI. Having 4.5 years of working knowledge in Accounting, Finance and Auditing, and also 1.6 years in process management.

Also I would like to know whether I can sit for exam and get certificate in any of the above without enrolling for training in SAP certified training Institutes, and how can I get hands-on experience to add in my Resume (which can compensate for not getting trained from SAP certified training Institutes and even transition of career).

Before you decide on a career, what is your passion? If it is HANA, I recommend trying the Open SAP Courses at open.sap.com. Also take a look at the Learning Journeys help.sap.com/learningjourneys

If it is FI-CO, do you have a background in accounting?

Thank your for your response.

I am a financial accountant and want to switch my career from financial accounting to IT SAP technical consultant. (esp SAP HANA)

I am of the age 33 and also know the consequence of switching the different career, but I am prepared for it.

I need the guidance from experts and right approach to achieve my goals.
