Pointers to get started in the SAP/ABAP world

Hi everyone,

we are shifting from a mainframe, legacy based system into the SAP and ABAP world at my place of employment. I had the opportunity to take a number of SAP courses. My background and job is in software development. I have over 20 years of experience in that area.

I would like to know if some of my fellow SCN members could give me a couple of pointers on how to make this a some transition and how I can flatten the learning curve a little bit.
