Please i need advice on choosing the right career path.

I am a graduate of computer science and i am considering applying for a masters degree in business informatics.

During the M.sc in business informatics, i intend to enroll for SAP courses/ certification.

My dilemma is that, i intend as my future career plan to be a consultant in Management / Strategy and business development.

But for the short term plans i intend to pursue a career in SAP and i donu2019t know which of the modules i should stick to that will later align to my future career plan.

I have been looking into choosing SAP Net weaver Business intelligence/ data warehousing and i intend to enroll for the following courses and .certification

u2022Introduction to SAP BI

u2022SAP BI u2013 Advanced Business Intelligence

u2022SAP BI u2013 Integrated Business Planning.

Certification exam: SAP BI (C_TBW45_70)

Is the SAP BI the right path to choose or should i just concentrate on a module like SAP SD?

Hi,

Its a good decision to do SAP BI. BI is used for the reporting, analysis, and interpretation of business data is of central importance to a company in guaranteeing its competitive edge. With Business Intelligence (BI), SAP NetWeaver provides data warehousing functionality, a business intelligence platform, and a suite of business intelligence tools with which an enterprise can attain these goals.

To make career in SAP with any module, the prerequisites are given below :

1, Min 3 yrs domain experience - It can be sufice with your technical knowledge

2, MBA, BE or equivalent techical degree,- Computer Science degree will work

3, Good Technical knowledge - technical degree will work

It is a wise step to make career in BI.

But if you do BI certification than it will be best for u as you have good technical knowledge and you will be considered as fresher into SAP BI field. When u go with the entry level jobs the organization will ask for support/ implementation experience with BI. If not than entry level is difiicult. To remove this ambiguity, you have to clear the BI certification exam. Though, its needed excessive reading to understand the concepts. The SAP books can only be helpful to clear ur doubts. the other reference material will not give clear idea. you should acquire either certification or BI real time basic experience than only u can enter into SAP world. Later on you can enter into management /strategy and business development with this module.

For SD module you should required Sales Domain experience min 3 years and Management degree will also required for that.

out of both, you have to decide what is your area of interest? and choose according to yout interest.

All the Best!!
