Hi Rishabh,

Welcome to the world of SAP Consultants.

With the background that you provided, I would suggest you to continue building your SAP Consulting skills in functional/business analyst domain. As you have got testing experience, I guess you are well aware of the unit, integration testing of diversified application and which makes you a good candidate for Business Analyst roles. I guess you can quickly grab the core functionality of the end to end business process spanning across multiple domains.

In regards to the choice of business functionality, I would suggest you to listen to your inner voice. Would you like financial accounting or you are more into analysis domain with analytical skills. This will decide which module will be good to start and beneficial in the long run. Please do remember that, it is a long journey and to master any single module will require a lot of hard work, dedication and passion. And you need these three attribute to fuel that journey.

I would also suggest you to keep building your ABAP skill, which I guess you already have. This will help you to understand the intricate and finer inner working of the SAP System and will help you to be less dependent on technical consultants. Also, you need to frequently dig into the system to find the various database tables, views, etc. and to get hold of the multiple extension points. You ABAP skills can be very handy in such scenarios.

Once you are fairly confident with the module, you can definitely prepare and aim for SAP Certification. It will really add another layer of knowledge and your potential recruiters can feel it from miles away

There are some excellent blogs posted by senior consultants in this forum. I would also suggest you to go through them as these will give you wonderful insights and suggestions.

I hope that I am able to provide you a few pointers to launch your career in the exciting space of SAP World. Wish you all the best for your exciting career ahead.
