No one wants SAP Basis freshers

Hello all,

I was planning to get into SAP for last one year, finally I have completed my Basis training from a private institute.

I have 4 and half years of experience as System admin (Windows + VMware), I am MCITP and VCP certified, but I always wanted to enter SAP and the most relevant to my profile was SAP BASIS.

I have finished my training and now looking for a job, but I am not getting any job, forget job, I am not even getting interview calls.

Many of my friends have recommended to add 1 yr of experience, saying., tell them that you even worked on SAP, but I personally don't want to do that, its ok for me to even get an entry level job with less salary, but I am not getting any calls.

Specially in Mumbai and Pune there is just nothing for SAP BASIS guys to start. Its really frustrating me as how to enter SAP.

Any recommendation/suggestions would be very useful.

Thanks a lot.

Dear Rahul,

Hope you are doing good.

Don't  get disheartened. The issue is that Basis needs some actual live system experience. I would say:

- keep trying.

- learn and add stuff like HANA, solman , EP etc ; not just traditional ABAP+JAVA

- do some opensap courses. They are free and you get a cert in the end.  Add this to your resume.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I do understand what you are saying, but thing is how can anyone get more exposure if he does not get a chance to enter.

Hi Rahul,

Have you done any certifications? I think this might help initially. Also there are several training institutes who do  have connections and will help you get interviews. Also do some open sap courses and add them to your resume. Exposure I do understand is a issue, but try to install a mini sap and then replicate issues that SCN users are facing. This can be of great help.

Hi Rahul

There are openings in sap basis freshers every time in hyd,banglore,pune..

but the thing is import your profiles in top sites as naukri , linkedin, etc

Try to approach recruiters or talent acquisition from the web

My suggestion is to start your career with mid-scale company by searching company recruiter by mail or telephonic....there's lots of thing to acquire details for getting a job

Don't loose hope

Yes, I am trying my level best to get a entry level job in Mumbai or Pune, but it seems to be almost impossible to even get a call for it. Even a small company with less pay is fine for me.

Hi,

Relocate to Bangalore. if you are in IT then bangalore is one place where you surely want to be.  Even when i was in kolkata i didn't received much calls. When I moved bangalore I had choices to make . Do not put fake experience. i highly discourage it. As said above, do install SAP in your personal system and try to look for scenarios from SDN. Go for certification. This will add up much value to your profile, prior to some experience. You can interest yourself in SAP HANA. Its in demand these days and nearly all the organizations are doing something or other in HANA.
