Dear Bhoopesh,

First I will say you Congrats as you are looking into SAP Platform.

There are Number of modules in SAP hence any software will have two things one is Technical other one is Functional.

Technical= ABAP

Functional= SD, MM. PP, FICO, WM, BI, BW,HR etc.,

Based on your past Experience in domain and accordingly to your mastered subjects you need to decide to go whether to Technical or functional side.

Once you choose among the above both, you need to analyse your domain knowledge from which you have been brought into SAP Career all I mean to say is your past domain knowledge will impact your functional module may be for considering your experience and better understanding of the companies business process and their process life cycles.

Apart from this there are lots of threads already been posted in this site on this. Please refer it for better understanding.

All the best

Thanks!

Srikanth

Dear Mr. Balina,

Thank you so much for the reply. Hoping for the same in near future.

Basically i'm from functional background and also interested to go in the same thing. Now things is i need to choose any SAP module as a start-up. According to my past experience i have expertise in Education ERP, So what module i'll prefer for start-up and from which institute.

Waiting for the positive reply.

Hi Bhoopesh,

I would think slight differently than the answer what you might have already got.

First: You have said you have been working as a project coordinator for last 5 years so that effectively means you are already familiar about the following:

  • Tracking Project Milestone, cost & resources
  • Scheduling
  • Cost & Planning Budget
  • Project strategy and risk mitigation etc.

And if that is true then why not to think about Project Systems module in SAP as probably you might be able to use some of your experiences that you might have earned over a period of time.

SAP Project Systems is an intergrated project management tool used for planning and managing projects, It has several tools that enables the project management process such as cost and planning budget, scheduling, requisitioning of materials and services.

Moreover SAP PS has very close integration with the other modules in SAP like SAP Finance & Controilling, Material Management, Sales & Distribution, Plant Maintenence and others.

Let me know in case you need any clarification.

Thanks & Regards

Subhasish
