Need your advice for SAP Career..

Hello SAP Gurus..

I have an experience of 3 yrs in IT. I am into flash development and integerating the flash applications in client,server.

I am very much interested in switching my career to SAP. When i discussed with few people (8 months back), they asked me to do SAP BASIS which is technical.(since i am not interesed in programming-ABAB). So i planned to do SAP BASIS. I have good knowledge in windows server2003 functionalities, networking and sql server. I wanted to get deep configuration and trouble shooting knowledge in OS , Windows server and Networking concepts before i do BASIS certification. I wanted to make a good foundation for doing BASIS certification. Hence i joined MCSE and completed the certification. I also learnt SQL server. In another two months, i will be joining SAP BASIS certification.

i have planned to take up "SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION WITH SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 and SQL". After completing it, i have to try for the job. of course i know its quite difficult to enter into SAP without relevant experience. But i have strong confidence in me and my capabilities so definitely i will get a job.

After completing the certification, will i be considered as BASIS consultant? is there any diference between BASIS admin & BASIS consultant? or both are same(sorry for the silly question )...

please tell me whether i am in the right track? if not, please guide me what to do further..

And also tell me whetther this module will be helpful to make a good career for me. or do you prefer anyother module based on by skill sets..

I am expecting your replies. Which would increase my confidence level further...

Hi Ashok,

I have also decided on getting into either of SAP-ABAP or SAP-BASIS, but as far as i inquired i came to know that SIEMENS and GENOVATE does not train on BASIS.

Can you please let me know which institute as you looking forward to and share details to me.

Hello Syed,

Frankly speaking, i am not going to spend lakhs.. I will be joining in an institute by feb or march. I have not yet planned the institution. I know some people who did their course in unauthrized centre and got placements(Not freshers).. There are some institutes which provide good training in Chennai and Bang. At the moment i dont have their names. I will let you know soon. Incase you find anything, pls let me know.
