Hi,
I hold a Bachelor of science degree in "Chemical Engineering".Have done a course GNIIT course on Web development and have very good computer knowledge. After 5 yrs of break period after marriage and kids i would like to start a new career life for myself. For a background as mine would you suggest SAP BI or SAP FICO as a successful career? Recently i've been collecting information on crash course details of SAP BI and placement after that. Please suggest....and thanks for your suggestions in advance.
Thanks,

Hi Spring,
Great that you have decided to continue your career.
Both SAP BI and FICO professionals have a very good market demand.
If you are good at analytics, then you should go for SAP BI. And if you are
interested in Fincance and Controlling, SAP FICO is the best. From your engineering
background, SAP BI might suit you best as you don't have enough domain experience
in SAP FICO. More than the crash course, it is the domain experience that matters
when you come to SAP field.
There are many training centres which provide trainings for SAP, but most of them
don't provide placement assistance. It would be just part of their marketing strategy.
Also if there had been placements, it could be only for 1 or 2, that too who had
previous domain experience in the industry. So before joining for any course in
any institute, please make sure they don't simply take your money away. So if they
are telling, they are providing placements, you may please cross verify the same.

Hi Leon,
That was a very helpful answer and thankyou so much for that information.
Do you have any idea where i could get 100% useful training in SAP BI?
It can be online or any place in Boston, MA.
Thanks,
Spring

Neither BI nor FICO have anything to do with either Web Development or Chemical Engineering. Without a domain experience you might find both of them equally challenging (more so FICO).
If you have a knack for coding in general, then you could try to get your hands dirty with ABAP.
And no crash-courses are a big no-no if you are serious about getting a job in SAP field. You have taken a break of 5 years. Another 5 months is not going to make a difference. Get your basics right before taking the plunge.
