Need help to choose SAP module and implementation job

Hi Seniors,

I completed my bachelor of IT and worked in programmer (not good) and application maintenance/support assignments.

I got bored with my work and took SAP foundation courses (FI/SCM/ABAP/BW) in a well known institute and got my certs.

Now, I am working in a SAP application incident support and maintenance project in the same company however I fee that I have not learned the basics of SAP implementation cycles which will deepen my understanding of the system's architecture and configuration.

Now, I have almost zero experience in any of the domains of SAP modules.

So, what would be the module of focus for me and how can I plan and act to get into SAP implementation scope of work.

Your advice is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Suthagar

Hello,

As you have mentioned you have worked on some application support so i guess you must having some knowledge on Technical coding and all. and you have knowledge of SAP ABAP as well, i would suggest you to try in SAP ABAP and learn deep concept of it, It will help you to use your past support experience. There are no. of tutorial and links available of SCN to learn ABAP by own, try to explore those link and if you got any doubt, let us know.

I am sharing one link with you which is very useful and source of all links related to SAP ABAP.

All the best

Hello Chandra,

Thanks for the helpful reply. I have tried programming in my earlier projects but I found that I just don't have the spirit/stamina for it. My idea is to get into functional side of SAP. No matter you link will be surely be helpful to me to learn something on ABAP. Thanks again.

Hi Praveen,

That is interesting. Actually I felt that I showed more interest in BI while in the foundation course.

What shall I do if I want to get hands on in BI/BW/HANA?

Where can I find such opportunity besides finding a job on it.

Maybe you can share your experience 🙂

Thanks.
