Hi All,

I am an Engineering graduate passed out in 2006 and have 2 years of experience as a Software Developer.I have the working period from Feb 2007 to Feb 2009. Due to family priorities, i had to quit that job and shift to other place after my marriage. Later i could not look in for a job as i had to take care of my twin babies. Now that they are grown i am willing to be back in to a job again. I have got an interest for SAP HANA though my Husband who is an SAP functional consultant. Can u guys advice if SAP HANA would be a right track for me to resume my career. Is online self study enough to land into a SAP HANA job? Also i want to know if i would be considered a fresher when i apply for SAP hana jobs even though i have got a 2 years of experience from my previous job. Your guidance and answers will help me reform my life as my complete focus is on getting back to a job nearly after 5 years. Thanks in advance friends.

Hi Lakshmi,

You can take a free course from (opensap.com) now also, they are giving the video and pdf document and after you finish the training you can appear for exam also. This opportunity is still available so go ahead and register at sap.com by creating a profile and you can opt for HANA training, there is more to come from opensap.

Cheers,

Hi Lakshmi,

If you want to learn HANA then you should get some training from SAP/SAP Partners or other institutes which offer training in HANA. HANA alone will not help in getting a job so you should learn BI/BW+HANA. Your previous experience was in development but not related with SAP so you will be a fresher in SAP. HANA is a new in-memory database and now companies are switching to HANA from traditional databases so the demand for people with knowledge and experience of HANA will increase.

Thank you,

Nagarajan Viswanathan

You missed a wonderful opportunity from SAP. recently, SAP has come up in offering training course on SAP HANA for free of cost in OpenSAP.com.

It was a tremendous experience. I suggest you to do a course in any institute rather than self study. Your prior experience will not be considered for HANA jobs. It will help you in the same field.
