Hello experts,

Good Day! I am a software developer for the last 8 years and coding in .Net and Oracle technologies. As my organization is implementing SAP SD and FI modules and I am a part of that integration process, I'm having interest to switch in SAP field. I have some queries in my mind that i wanna ask with you guys. Please help me out.

1. Is certification mandatory to specialize in any of the module?

2. As i have a vast experience of programming, should i go for ABAP or some other module like BI, HANA, etc.?

3. Is it necessary to have ABAP alongwith some functional module? And if so, which functional module will be more feasible?

Ovais, I'm not an expert, but I like to answer to you and say that you must choose what you LIKE not what the market (or your boss) want. 🙂

  • Is certification mandatory to specialize in any of the module?

That depends. Will you work as "professional" or "final user - key user" ? If choose professional, will be mandatory a certification.

Tell me honestly, programming is your passion? If it is, why will not go for ABAP?

  • Is it necessary to have ABAP alongwith some functional module? And if so, which functional module will be more feasible?

No, it is not. ABAP is the programming language for SAP.
