Hello All,
&
I am MM consultant. I want to start learning WM. I do not have basic knowledge of WM. Could you please suggest me how & from where to start. Is it possible to learn WM by reading books? I found two boooks on WM which are
1. SAP Warehouse Management: Functionality and Technical Configuration
2. Warehouse Management with SAP ERP: Functionality and Technical Configuration
Both are written by Martin Murray. Shall I go ahead & procure one of them? if anyone is using these books please advice.
Regards,
Amit

For learning VM firstly you need to learn PDA logic. What does it mean Handling unit. etc.

Yes, these are good books, in internet also you will get basic configuration stuffs. But, studying will not be enough , hands on is also required.

Knowledge about physical warehouse process add much more value and make the learning more useful. I met lot of consultant who started with the book and during project support / implementation learnt at detail level also there were few consultant who felt that only book is not enough and moved to another module as they felt WM is too complex. so answer is totally depend on the individual.

I read number 2 and a few more books on SAP WM.
Warehouse Management with SAP ERP: Functionality and Technical Configuration
I can recommend it, it will be quite understandable to you if you are already in SAP (MM).
WHat I'd advise you, is that you take the book seriously and try to understand the introduction to WM and only then start learning specific config steps since you need to understand warehouse processes in order to be able to grasp what follows and know what you're doing while making config changes.
WM is pretty interesting module and it integrates to MM, WW, QM, PP etc. so by mastering WM you will gain more skills in integration, and forementioned modules.
If you find some online material you'd like to make sure it's good for learning, link it here and I'll give it a look and let you know if it's worth it.
But the book from above is pretty good for your level of knowledge (SAP experience, no WM experience).

Hi Amit,
MM would give you an add on advantage but just books will not be enough, I feel you also should have practical knowledge, classes, a practise system and some online videos to give you more confidence.
