Age is not a constraint if you are willing to put hard work without any time constraint. From your personal network, engage someone as a tutor, learn the basics thoroughly. Instal IDES in your personal laptop, practice daily for hours together, note down the issues whatever you face and get clarified with your friends network. This will take atleast 2 - 3 years for you to understand the basic configuration, assuming, you spend most of your time in self-learning. With that limited knowledge, you can get an entry in IT, but only at junior level, as your domain experience will not be considered and you will be treated as a fresher.

Of course, financially, you can overcome after 5 - 6 years, when compared to your current domain salary but again, it all depends on how you enhance your consulting skill and how best you are into basics

So, mentally, be prepared for that and accordingly, take a bold decision. All the best
