Dear All,
I need your advice regarding this career shifts, I was an SAP ABAPer for more than 4 years in the Philippines previously, but due to an offer in Singapore, I was forced to change career to a Non-SAP career for the past 3 years, If i'm planning to go back to being an ABAPer, would i still be able to come back properly? or employers would look at me like a zero-experienced guy and offer me lower than what i was supposed to be offered for my 4 years abap and total 7 years work experience?

A lot depends on the firm that is offering you the job and your level of proficiency in ABAP.
3 years break from SAP is not a big set back.Explore if you can leverage your current skill set as an addition to SAP that can help you get back into SAP.
As far as your pay is concerned, it depends on Supply & Demand.

Dear Ryan,
As far as my opinion is concerned, the force on you to get into functional side would really be the plus point for you. It might be a good idea if work as techno-functional consultant. It is a niche skill and you will be on demand. Try exploring about it from real time people.

You can very well re-enter into SAP world but as for as your experience is concerned, only 4 years will be taken into account and accordingly, you would be offered a junior / mid level designation. Coming to pay, it differs from country to country but in general, HR would offer you some hike from the last drawn pay when you were working as a ABAPer. If you get a decent hike from your current salary itself, then, it is your luck. So you have to decide whether to compromise on perks
