Hello SAP experts,
I worked on SAP SRM functional for more than 1.5 yrs and now I want to switch from this technology to to SAP FICO. Since I dont know much about the future of SRM after SAP acquired ARIBA so I am taking this decision. Would it be a wise decision to move to FICO from SRM since FICO always has a broader career path. Please suggest me since I am not in a situation to learn SRM anymore.

Hello Shibu,
You should have a valid reason to move from SRM to FICO, rather than "broader career path". No path is broader, unless you like it and ready to work with passion. Tomorrow when you come to SAP FICO, you would see lot of competitive from others. Probably, FICO is the most competitive module, as you will find number of consultants into it. Then if you find FICO is not giving what you are looking for, then would you choose another module? By this way, you need to learn all modules of SAP, but cannot be master of none.
Therefore, before selecting a module check your interest, education, experience and domain knowledge. Unless, it matches all these, then any module would be worthless.
"not in a situation to learn SRM anymore" what does this mean? Do you lost interest within 1.5 years time? It may so happen with SAP FICO. Try to concentrate on a particular technology / market, then develop your skills around that, rather than changing the core modules frequently, which might not be helpful in career growth.
Hope this is useful.
Kind Regards,
Ravi
