Move from ABAP to Hana

Dear Experts,

I need a Right Career advise.

I have 7+ years of SAP ABAP Experience working in End user company abroad. I might get settled in India or might go for freelancing abroad.

I have worked in SD, MM, FI, HR and BW projects.

Now I want to grow in my career. I want to learn Hana and want to do certification.

1. Suppose if I learn Hana and do Hana certification and even if I don't have Hana Experience, will there be any companies (in India or abroad) which will recruit me?

2. If I have Hana Certification but no experience will they reduce my salary(I mean will I get less salary like junior consultants of 2 years).

3. Will this be a right move for my future.

Please kindly let me know.

Regards

Sam

Hi,

SAP BI module will suits for you, because you have 7+ years of experince in ABAP . In BI most of times we need ABAP consultant Help. Now in Present Market  BI+ABAP they are giving first Preference.

already you have BW projects experince you can utilise that one .

Later on after 1 year you can Migrate into BO and HANA . (Once you are Familarise With BI then you can easily understand BO and HANA same FLOW(BI/BO/HANA).

1. Suppose if I learn Hana and do Hana certification and even if I don't have Hana Experience, will there be any companies (in India or abroad) which will recruit me? : yes they will recruit .

2. If I have Hana Certification but no experience will they reduce my salary(I mean will I get less salary like junior consultants of 2 years).: it Depends on Organisation and Clients

3. Will this be a right move for my future : i don't think so, my suggestion will be first learn BI already you bw project experince after 1 year you can migrate into HANA.
