Mentoring Assistance in SAP MM

Hi There,

I'm Suresh Raghuraj I work for Sing Tel Optus Pty Ltd, Sydney Australia as Mobility Specialist and Telco support for Westpac Banking Group. I have Management Graduate degree majoring in Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations Management however I ended up in Telco industry for some personal reasons. I always wanted to be in Logistics and Supply Chain field and then decided to do a course in SAP MM module which I'm currently doing. I have asked for mentoring assistance from my peers and always hit the brick wall. I have been looking the jobs market especially for SAP MM jobs I get to see the minimum experience required  is anywhere from 5 to 7 years.

I'm confident that I will complete the course (academic side) and get my certification done, what is shaking my confidence is lack of experience in this industry, I’m wondering is there any mentoring assistance available which will allow me to see and experience the live scenarios, eventually I can add to my resume.

My long term goal is to be a Functional consultant, however with my work experience it will be a struggle, please enlighten me with your expertise or share your experiences on the do’s and don’ts.

SureshKumar,

The MM forums, in SCN and IT Toolbox have many threads related to real-time issues.

Read, if possible participate in the solving of issues, in these forums.

This exercise would help in understanding the theory and expose you to "the practical side" of SAP MM.
