Master in Accounting necessary? FI/CO Consultant

Hi,

I am working as Technical Consultant and I plan to work as a Module Consultant in the future. I have interests in SD and FI/CO. Now, I am eligible to be enrolled in a part-time Master in Accounting which will take 2 year. I find it difficult to make a decision. On the one hand, this master program enjoys certain exemptions of ACCA and enables me to take uniform exam of AICPA which benefits a lot if I want to take such certificates. On the other hand, it really takes a long time to finish the degree. I don't want to be an accountant but want to be qualified for such a position as FI/CO consultant which requires financial and accounting knowledge.

I am looking forward to valuable advice.

Best regards,

ts

Hi Burzes Batliwalla,

Thanks for your reply. This is my first time to take a part-time degree. I am wondering is it difficult to balance between working and studying if you have such experience. Would u mind sharing it with me? Moreover, is it necessary to spend two years on a master degree?

Best regards,

ts
