Hi all,

I have 6+ years of experience in the area of software testing and Quality Assurance and make to make a career in SAP as a Functional SAP consultant. My experience is with Retail and telecom domains , have QAI certifications as CSTE, CSQA and CABA. However, i am unhappy with the kind of reputation , value ,recognition and earnings a QA team gets in any organization and within the IT industry. Anways, that is a separate topic which i want to leave it here.

With 2+ years in retail industry, exposure to end-to-end scenarios of order creation and I wish to learn more on  warehouse management, shipping and logistics. If i wish to take a new leap into SAP, i am confused as to which module i should start...is it BI+O or SCM.

Request all experts and experienced consultants to kindly respond which can help me a lot in taking a decision. Though i have good experience in programming, i dont want to be technical, rather i wish to be a functional consultant.

Thanks.

Hi Krishna,

With your interest in logsitics, warehouse management, and as you are entering new into SAP world, I would recommend to start with SAP SD module as a functional consultant.

SAP SD module will cover the sales process, logistics execution, pricing, warehouse management.  Also, as it will be new to you, please focus on the above areas once by one.  Do not jump on learning all the above topics in one go.  The above topics are like mini-oceans itself.

Now, how you can enter ?  Better to complete the SAP SD certification from the Authorized SAP Education partner in your area.  The classroom training with a good instructor will give a better idea about SAP SD.  Indeed, the cost is bit high, but worth investing according to me.  Most importantly, do not leave your existing job till you complete your certification and find a suitable opening.

Hope this will be helpful

Best of luck

Thanks and Regards

DJ

Hi Dyanesh Joshi,

Thanks for your response, though i saw it immediately, i could not reply. After a careful thought and suggestions from my friends and people from you, i choose to become a SAP BI consultant. Right now, i am undergoing training under the mentorship of a platinum certified BI consultant, which is going good so far. Once again, thank you for your time and suggestion.

Regards,

KC
