Solved: Life Changing Decision - SAP Security

Hello All,

I'm working for an MNC. I'm working in SAP Security job for the past 3 years. Till now I'm handling only User Administration and Monitoring tasks. I've been switched to SAP Security after 3 years of Windows Administration experience. Having a total experience of 6 years, I'm getting an opportunity to lead a Basis team (it includes Security work too). I'm having a confusion like if I've to lead the team, I should be technically sound which I'm not. Also I am not sure that whether switching to Basis will be good at this point of time. If I have to switch job, I am not sure whether I can get. I'm married and trying to conceive. I don't want to leave my job too. I'm looking for a little peaceful job which has no shifts. Please suggest me which is good for my career and life.

Hello Sabri,

Yes be cautious with your career move, We can suggest here anything but ultimately its upto you what you choose.

1- First prioritize your importance yes as you rightly said team lead for SAP Basis is very lucrative but can be very hectic .

2- SAP Basis is best suitable for your profile however its not only choice you can explore some more options or other modules.

3- in case you decided to peruse career in SAP Basis it is not necessary you will have always to work in shifts it varies company to company.

Wish you good luck be wise and take a conscious decision after considering various facts like priorities, career advancements.

Hi,

SAP Security is very similar to SAP Basis Module.You will get more No of projects as well as more no of Onsite Opportunity for SAP BASIS.Please shift to SAP BASIS.

Thanks for your reply.However, it will have rotation shifts, right?? so, I'm still in the dilemma..
