learning BW HANA/BODS with ABAP

Hi,

I have 4+ yrs of exp in SAP ABAP and now want to switch to HANA. Now I have 3 choices.

1.) ABAP on HANA : which I am not intrested.

2.) BW on HANA : shall I go for it? No prior experience of BW.

3.) SAP BODS on HANA: shall I go for it ? No prior experience of SAP BODS. But I have experience in data migration and that's why this is exciting me since BODS is a data migration tool.

Please help me which additional skill shall I learn with ABAP ( BW OR BODS on HANA) which boosts my profile as per market demand?

it seems like you have already made your decision. Though if you already have ABAP why move away? You do have some risk in changing to another area of going back to fresher level? At the same time diversifying is beneficial as well.

Thanks a lot for your valuable reply.

Regarding ABAP I am not much interested in coding so I am planing to move SAP BO that is reporting thing. I am already learning modelling in HANA these days and  once I done with this will start learning BO.

I came to know it has a great boost in market.

Also I want to learn something new instead of doing coding for whole life.

Please provide your valuable suggestion.

Hi Sumeet

Please respect this community with some patience, especially when you raise your question over the weekend and barely give more than 24 hours for reply. Most people look at SCN during their work week.

Secondly, I did reply to you but you have ignored me. There may be others out there who have not replied as they too were going to ask the same question I asked you. Or are you expecting specific people to respond to you?

As far as market demand goes - you have identified required areas. Your aptitude, skills and determination will really determine how well your profile is boosted in the market. Impatience does not help.

No one is going to be able to tell your to pick option 1, 2 or 3. You need to do that. At best people can provide some insights to help you choose. If you were to search this space you would find numerous discussion on BW, ABAP and HANA as career paths as well as skills to develop.
