Hi,
I am Narendra having 6 years of experience in Java/j2ee.
Now I want to change my career into SAP world.
Where java/j2ee developers are will suits in SAP modules?
I found some links related to webdynpro development, But I am not interested in UI and Portals. (Already done many years)
Is there is any scope in SOA or MIDDLEARE like SAP-PI/XI ?
If I choose SAP-PI/XI, what is future in US market for next 3to 4 years?
I appreciate your quick and accurate responses.
Thanks,
Narendra

Hi,
Moving to SAP is a good decision.For a java person EP,webdynpro,XI options are there in SAP Based on your interest chose XI, I don't know what happens in the US in next few years. if you are interested to learn it then search for XI on SDN and use help.sap website. this is one thread on [Eligibility to XI|/thread/777919 [original link is broken];
all the best for your career in XI
and check this [site |http://www.riyaz.net/blog/xipi-the-xi-starter-kit/technology/sap/21/]also

Hi,
As you have already done the homework, from a java/j2ee developer to SAP XI/PI could be a good transition for you in SAP World.
Nobody can predict the future after 3-4 years. Particularly the middleware field which is always evolving. But at present XI/PI market is good and if you do some 'more search' then you'll find that there are lot of demands for PI technical consultant(the role where you would be fit in) all over the world. Currently PI7.1 version is in use at many customer locations and next version of PI will be released in near future so you can be rest assured that there will lot of opportunities for good consultants.
For more in on PI future please check the forum :-
Only important thing that you have to remember is that you need to devote 1-2 year to get good hands on knowledge on the topic and possibly in an integration project.
