Is the process specialist role equal to associate consultant role ..

Can anyone of you make me to understand , "is the process specialist role equal to associate consultant role" in a IT company , especially in SAP domain ..I mean both the job responsibilities are same or is there any difference ...?

Hi Vimala,

It is not easy to identify and differentiate the job responsibilities just by the designation as different companies use different designations for the same job/role. So if you have offers already, then talk to HR in the respective company/ies and know the responsibilities better.

Actually i have been told that my job roles and responsibilities will be in sap support project , where i need be handled with L1 L2 levels, like associate consultant, but i am being given the designation as process specialist by the company .. So one thing i requist you to clarify, that with this designation if i apply for sap consultant position in future , will it be considered or not. Please do revert ..

Hi Vimala,

No problem at all. It's based on your work experience and knowledge level that you can apply for future jobs, not just by your designation. That's why I had mentioned above that in some companies the designations provided are little different. If you are interested in the mentioned job profile, go ahead and join.

Hi Vimala,

Two terms that you have mentioned in your query ("Process Specialist" & "Associate Consultant") can not be compared as one clearly states that someone will be working as a process specialist be it business process or process internal to a team in a task, Associate Consultant states that you are going to be one step below Consultant but in which domain and capacity is not clear. I hope I was able to highlight the difference.
