Hello All,
Hope you are doing well
I am working as SAP BO consultant from past 1.5 year and also have knowledge in ABAP and HANA.
My question is
1. Is continuing as a sap bo consultant has scope in future...?
2. I am good in programming and if i want to switch my module which sap module will be good for me...?
3. If i opt HANA, is it a good choice...?
Am fully confused. Please help me out in deciding my carrier. Your suggestions will greatly appreciable. Please help me.

Hi Arjun,
IMHO:
1. Continuing as a SAP BO Consultant has scope in future, depends which area of BO you are working in. Data Services play an important role connecting to HANA, Dashboards and WebI are pretty much the best front end reporting tool SAP can offer right now.
2. If you are good in programming, as in ABAP per se? or any other programming language?
If you are good in ABAP, carry on and learn ABAP-managed database procedures, which is used in HANA. If you are good in programming generally, pick up SAP FIORI, UI5, Mobility has a bright future now that SAP is partnering with Apple.
3. HANA is new, of course is a good choice, but HANA itself it's a In-memory Database, Since you have BO and ABAP experience, why limit yourself for HANA only? You can leverage BO and ABAP on top of HANA with so much more to offer.
Last but not least, you don't need to decide your career path right now, give it time, HANA is still young. I'd say you are in a good position, just do what you can, with what you have, and move on from there. Don't limit yourself.
All the best dude

Hi Arjun
Answers to your questions
1) Yes. Keep yourself updated with Lumira also
2) Being Techie, any reporting related module will be good for you. meaning if you do BW + BO with ABAP then you will be on top
3) HANA is database. You can opt this once you are expert in ABAP-BW-BO. If you know all these three modules & get some experience in it, you will understand yourself the need of HANA & its importance.

I am answering the first and the third question combine here. Regarding the scope in SAP BO career, it is definitely having scope because these days in highly competitive SAP sector companies are focusing on result-oriented solutions and BO has that quality in it. What you can do more is grow your skills and for this you can choose some highly important SAP BO courses. Some courses I know like SAP BO Web Intelligence or the Design Studio etc... Also if you are interested in SAP HANA then start learning it; this would be your best choice.
Now regarding the question 2 – If you really feel that you are good in programming then I also recommend you choosing ABAP, UI5, and SAP FIORI etc...
I hope my answers make sense to you! When you will look for a job, you can visit my website SAP BI Jobs.
