IDES 4.7 or ECC 6?

Hi Experts

I am taking training in an institute and practicing there they are teaching on IDES 4.7. Is it OK?

Or should i practice on ECC 6?

Hi,

I guess you are taking certain basic training so any of the version should ok for you.

But as ECC6 offers many new features so obliviously it should be more preferred. Like with ECC6 you will get netweaver components so you can have ABAP+JAVA stack, moreover it supports unicode.

From functional perspective also there are major changes many areas like in FI,SD etc. Also if you are working with certain Industrial solutions then many functionalties you may not use at all with earlier versions.
