I think you will find it difficult to directly enter functional testing since your whole experience is in technical area. I don't know if there are testing specific courses, but I would suggest that you should directly get on-the-job training and it will be best. But for that you will need to explore options with your current employer or while in job interviews.

Hi,

Testing is not any types of module.

As my suggestion don't go for SAP testing.

There are limited opening and limited opportunity for SAP testing.

As you know the ABAP language, You can carry with this module SAP ABAP.

Every company need 3-4 types of consultant.

MM Consultant.

FI consultant.

SD consultant.

PP consultant

ABAP consultant.

BASIS consultant.

You can carry with ABAP module, if you want to learn, then you can go with BASIS or SAP administration.

Thanks

1. I want to switch from ABAP module to SAP testing. is there any way ?

You wanted to move ABAP testing? If yes, no issue, you can move easily.

2. What to do for testing ? any course / certification ? if yes then please let me know about Institute

or Organization. I resid in Navi Mumbai.

You already have developing knowledge so testing is like combination of Developing skills + testing Skills. So little bit you need to learn for this..

3. Scope in SAP testing ? Type's of testing ? Is there any tools or technology for sap testing ?

This is easily available of Google.

4. Is there need of hard coder / Programmer for tesitng ?

Depend on type of testing.. for ABAP, you should have some programming skills.

5. I am not aware about testing, is in ABAP or sap functional module ?

ABAP will be good for you.

hi Bharat,

If you don't like coding then check about BW or BO tools. its reporting tools and less coding(in bw 5%).

BW :

its data warehouse ,

data flow design

Pulling data from ECC/nonsap to BW

One data was loaded to bw, then we do reporting by using Bex tool.

BW can be your cup of tea if you do not want to do hard core programming..Still we do write ABAP code in BW projects but the complexity is less and can be easily managed.

I stay in Navi MumbI only but i have no idea about the institutes.

Hi,

BW - Data warehouse

BI - BO - business objects (BI - business intelligence).

ABAP with BW is hot cake in market, have more opportunities. its best option for you.

Even from google also you can BW jobs, thru that you can guess how much opportunities are there.

ABAP with BW - Best combination  as per the present market.

BW is basically Business warehousing system where we extract data from different systems and then we apply business logics it which we call as transforming the data and finally we load them to the targets.

So this becomes as ETL tool.Once we have data in place then we create reports on top of it with the help of reporting tools.

We have different reporting tools..BO now know as BI.Hope you can explore on it.

Yes we have scope for BW and its vital for many companies as this acts as decision making system.

If you were to take my advice i would say to learn BW first then BI you can learn anytime.

AL

Hi,

As your are abaper, can handle with very easy. for you it won't be complex to write small logic as per the business needs while loading the data into bw targets.

Here are terms/palce which we use abap code.

1. Start routine

2. End routine

3. Expert routine

4. rule groups.

5.Data source enhancement (ECC side, TX - CMOD, exits , EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001/002/003/004 )

6. at Bex(reporting level) BW server  Tx - CMOD, RSAR00001, Customer exits(EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001),

7. Look Up - While loading time, need to write look ups from third target.

if you search on Google with above names, you get best docs on each of them with examples.

Hi,

BI with BO or BI with ABAP  or  BO with Hana  at present these 3 are having good market.

As you have Abap experience  better to go for BI with ABAP.

Bi related ABAP Documents :

search in google as : SDN Articles - BI Related ABAP

Here you will get detail Information ABAP related BI with good Scenarios.

How Much %age of ABAP involved in BI : Depends on Business Requirement ( Mostly 20%)
