I want to learn SAP.

Hi there!

My name is George and this is my first post, so please be gentile :).

I am a web programmer, 3.5years of experiece with Php, Mysql, Javascript, HTML, XML...

I recently found out about SAP, I read a little documentation ... and I want to start learnig SAP.

I want an advice, if anyone can spare one ... would it be to much for me to switch to SAP, based on my knoledge and programming skills?

Sorry about posting in the wrong forum. And for the word mix-up.

I had no ideea about the meaning of the word "gentile". It's so embarrassing.

Looks like I started with the left foot

Didn't now where exactly to start with, so I went to the eLearning section,

and started with a podcast about IdM Reports and SAP Business Object Crystal Reports ...

All's nice and clear.

I'll stick with the eLearning for a while, to get familiar.

If you want to move in an architecture role I recommend the new Associate Technology Architecture course and certification.

Hello,

it is up to you where to start. For example:

1) install yourself a trial version of SAP, useful for your first steps at home, useful to gain a little SAP basis (administration, installation, configuration) experience

2) if you have access to the IDES system (with DB filled with demo data), start there

3) if you want to benefit from your previous web developer experience, look around here for WebDynpro development, that is the current SAP web development standard

4) if you like the administration tasks and want to benefit from your web exp. - read a little about the SAP portals (NW Portals, SAP EP).

Or many more.
