venu,
As a functional consultant; to understand a concept (or point) always try to find some examples which you can relate to / understand.
E.g.
You want to buy a TV.
There are certain big manufacturers LG, Samsung, Sony etc.
You have done your initial research and you think Sony TV would be a fit for your requirement.
But at the last stage (with some reason), you change your preference and buy an LG TV.
Thus a big company like Sony lost the deal at the last stage.
*The reasons could be many e.g. LG gave a good discount or a friend referred LG as a great choice.
Added: In bagging projects too, the client is constantly searching for the "best" vendor (during the entire selection process).
The criteria for selection of a vendor for a particular project could be cost, quality of service etc. etc.
For you, I would suggest to stop thinking about things you can't control.
and start thinking about things that you can control (e.g. self preparation - reading the theory, practicing in IDES, revisiting the tickets that you shall tell in interviews).
Note: I give myself the same advice.
Don't worry about anything (money, projects etc. etc.) keep preparing and practicing and understanding SD
