Hi Friends,

I have 4.6 Yrs of experience in SAP ABAP Programming. Now I am making a move to change my career to some other module in SAP Apart from programming and Functional modules. I have decided to learn SAP SECURITY. How the opportunities of SAP SECURITY from now to down the line 5 years. What else i should learn to get good opportunities along with SAP SECURITY in the present competitive world as a technology changer like me. Please kindly guide me friends.

Hi Shankar,

If you are not interested in functional modules... try Basis / Security with HANA. In security GRC is upcoming scope.

With your experience it is good to become techo functional.

Hi Shankar,

please understand one thing that you can't predict the future right now . As you are having a good experience in SAP ABAP, i will suggest you to go through some abap related technology like, UI5, HANA,Webdynpro etc.

Its because if you are going to change you domain within your organisation, then you will get an exposure to other module lile security easily, but i don't think other organisation will provide you any exposure for security because you will get treated as an fresher in Security .

So choose wisely, according to my view choose your Career according to your interest not according to future.

Because if there will be any drastic condition in Market occurs then you can work easily if it will be of your interest, but you will loose if you have just choosen it by seeing the future.
